Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Continue your journey through the mountain scenery, to get to, and visit “Ait Benhaddou” Kasbah-an interesting structure declared as a world heritage site in 1987. It is the most famous and most impressive fortified village in the south of Morocco. Its architecture resembles the one of many fortified buildings further south, dating back to 17th century. Yet, this Kasbah seems to be much older than that. Ait Benhaddou Kasbah' s location in so strategic that it was an important stop for the Caravan dealers, starting from the south, and heading to various destinations, such as Fes, Marrakech, Essaouira, etc. The site, located between the mountains, and by the river, comprehends a lot of beautiful contrasts, which have made it a point of attraction for many film makers around the world. So, films such as "Lawrence of Arabia", "Gladiator", etc were partially shot around there.
